Ted Girard
Sous Chef
Ted grew up in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, and as a curious child, he was happy to partake in everything Rhode Island had to offer, from Del’s to Allie’s and Water Fire to Narragansett Town Beach. Ted’s love for cooking was fostered through time spent with loved ones. Cooking with his mother, grilling with his father, and baking with his grandmother all profoundly developed his culinary curiosity. Ted discovered early on that the best way to feed his creativity and connect with those around him was through great food
Ted began to cook non-stop and decided to take his fledgling culinary skills to Johnson and Wales University. While in college, he learned the ropes of working in a kitchen during his time spent at the National Hotel on Block Island and proudly received the title of “Rookie of the Year”. Determined to improve his skill further, Ted started cooking at Giusto and is still working tirelessly to hone them.
Outside of work, Ted can usually be found rock climbing or hiking through Rhode Island’s great state parks, almost always accompanied by the stylings of Green Day and Dispatch.
